The beta phase of the Storage Disaster Recovery Service (SDRS) has been concluded and the final version has been released.
Disaster recovery goes a step further than conventional backups – it ensures that services remain available in the event of a data center failure, and without any data being lost.
The SDRS guarantees that data is continuously synchronized on an Elastic Volume between two different availability zones, thereby ensuring an RPO (recovery point objective) of close to zero seconds.
At the beginning, it supports AZ1 and AZ2, as well as all KVM flavors that are not assigned to local disks or dedicated network cards. Furthermore, for Q1 2020 it is planned that the Elastic Cloud Servers are also supported on a Dedicated Host (DeH). We will provide separate information on this as soon as this function is released.
