The new Config service still contains all the configuration details from the connected cloud services, as the RMS did before. On top of collecting and storing the configuration data, the Config service offers a set a new features to work with this data.
Resource Recorder
This component is recording each configuration change for e.g. ECS, EVS, RDS, KMS, DMS, OBS and many more and stores it for up to 7 years.
Compliance Checks
The collected cloud resource changes can be validated against compliance rules to ensure all resources stay in a compliant configuration. The compliance validation keeps evaluating permanently all changes of your cloud stacks deployed in EU-DE and EU-NL. In case the compliance evaluation detects irregularities, a list of Non-Compliant Cloud Resources is available.
Advanced Queries
The new Config service has a powerful and customizable query interface, which allows to use predefined queries to read information’s from the Config datastore, but also custom queries can be created.
