The Cloud Eye Service (CES) can now also monitor the Object Storage Service (OBS) in the EU-DE region. A total of 83 metrics are available that can be monitored and displayed within the CES dashboards. This includes, for example, information on the capacity usage of the OBS. You can see the storage space consumed or the number of objects within a bucket per storage class or as a whole.
Performance information can also be easily monitored, such as bandwidth or transactions per second. Information on cost-dependent variables such as traffic or put, get or delete requests are also available.
Using the alarm functionality, you can configure notifications that are automatically triggered when the individually adjustable thresholds are reached. The Simple Message Notification (SMN) service takes over the delivery of notifications and alarms. These can be sent to different users via different communication channels such as SMS, email, http/s or the Distributed Message Queue (DMS) service.
In addition, there are 4 event notifications available that are triggered when an event occurs.
A detailed overview of the available metrics including a short description of how the OBS service can be used in combination with the Cloud Eye service can be found in the corresponding community blog article.
