The new EVS disk ‘General Purpose SSD’ (GP SSD) is now available in the EU-DE region. The EVS disk has a maximum number of input/output operations of 20,000. The disk starts with 1,800 IOPS and grows with a factor of 12 of the capacity used in GB. With a latency of 1 ms, it is currently one of the fastest disks in the portfolio. The throughput starts at 100 MB/s and increases by a factor of 0.5 multiplied by the capacity in GB until it reaches the maximum throughput of 250 MB/s. With these specifications the GP SSD is particularly suitable for web applications and medium-sized databases.
At the same time, we have implemented several changes to the EVS specifications in your favour, which you can read about below:
- The maximum bandwidth per High IO disk increases by 30 MB/s to 150 MB/s
- The maximum bandwidth per Ultra-high IO disk increases by 30 MB/s to 350 MB/s
- The maximum bandwidth per Common IO disk increases by 50 MB/s to 90 MB/s
The complete overview of the currently available disk types and their specifications can be found on the Elastic Volume Service (EVS) Produktseite.
