Availability of secondary Domain Name Service (DNS)

We recently faced minor issues with our Doman Name Service (DNS).

To increase the reliability of the DNS, we have added a secondary DNS to our landscape.

DNS Server IP Address

Function

100.125.4.25

Primary DNS

100.125.129.199

Secondary DNSPrimary DNS

If you are using the OTC DNS infrastructure, we recommend adding the secondary DNS to your configuration. Newly created VPCs and subnets are created with this configuration by default since the beginning of September 2021 – but for older resources, a manual adjustment from your side is necessary.

The procedure how to verify/activate this setting via the user interface (UI) will be shared within this article.

If you are working with IaC (e.g. Terraform) consider adding the secondary DNS to your code.

We highly recommend to follow the instructions within the article mentioned above.
