We currently offer the Direct Connect service on 2 different architectures. These are Direct Connect 1.0 (old architecture) and Direct Connect 2.0 (new architecture). From 01.02.2025 we will switch off the Direct Connect 1.0 and the PLAS service. Thanks to Direct Connect 2.0 (new architecture), the Private Link Access Service is no longer required. Therefore, with the discontinuation of the Direct Connect 1.0 architecture, the Private Link Access Service will also go end-of-life at the same time. Affected customers must contact the Service Desk to coordinate a migration with us. This will cause a brief interruption to the service.
Customers already using Direct Connect 2.0 (released on 4 April 2023) do not need to migrate.
What is the Successor of PLAS?
Through an internal update of the Architecture from Direct Connect 1.0 to 2.0 there is no dependency on PLAS Service any longer.
Direct Connect with PLAS:
Direct Connect 1.0 & Private Link Access Service (PLAS) end of life as of 01.02.2025
Direct Connect without PLAS:
Are you a PLAS customer or do you use Direct Connect 1.0?
- If you are still using Direct Connect 1.0 or the Private Link Access Service, then a migration to the new Direct Connect architecture (2.0) is mandatory.
- How and when this migration can take place depends on the respective configuration.
- The migration can lead to a short service interruption. This usually lasts a few minutes.
What do you have to do now?
- If you are affected, our experts will have already contacted you to discuss the specifications for your migration.
- If this has not been the case, please contact the Service Desk or your OTC contact so that we can plan your migration.
- As the migration may lead to a service interruption, we ask that you provide us with a migration window in which the migration can take place.
If you have any more questions, please get in contact with us via our OTC Contact or the OTC Service Desk.
