Forrester WAVE™: Open Telekom Cloud leads the way in Europe

In August 2024, Forrester published a Wave report on public cloud platforms offered from Europe to European users: "The Forrester Wave™: Public Cloud Platforms In Europe, Q3 2024, The Eight Providers That Matter Most And How They Stack Up". It analyzes the most significant providers and compares their strengths and weaknesses on the basis of a catalog of 32 criteria.

The evaluation of Forrester WAVE™ takes into account the current offering, the strategy and the market presence. The Open Telekom Cloud was able to achieve the top ranking in both the current offering and strategy categories and place itself as a leader among the top vendors in the market. Forrester sees its WAVE report as a recommendation to users to take a closer look at the respective providers.

Forrester identified eight public cloud providers for the WAVE™ report. Only two were classified as leaders. T-Systems received the highest possible scores in 22 of the evaluation criteria, such as compute services, storage services, networking and content delivery services, database services, data governance services, security services and AI development services.

The report states: T-Systems has developed a consistent portfolio for its public cloud customers on the Open Telekom Cloud. Its vision and product roadmap are superior to other competitors, as evidenced by its advanced automation of IaaS and PaaS tasks and unique investments in AI to enhance its GPU portfolio, big data services, and AI tools and services. T-Systems is ahead of the competition when it comes to AI capabilities. The Open Telekom Cloud supports a variety of AI approaches and offers a comprehensive portfolio for the entire analytics lifecycle. T-Systems is the only provider to offer a chatbot. T-Systems is an excellent choice for European companies in the insurance, finance, automotive and pharmaceutical sectors. The report also contains profiles and analyses of the other European providers. It thus offers cloud users who are looking for a suitable provider impulses for the selection.
