Alongside SNAT (source NAT), NAT Gateway now also supports DNAT (destination NAT).

The destination of an IP packet can be forwarded via a public IP (Elastic IP) to a private IP in the Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) using DNAT. The user can select whether all ports or only certain ports are generally to be used. DNAT therefore enables multiple server services to be reached using a public IP – via different ports.

DNAT can also be used in conjunction with Direct Connect in order to reach a server in a different data center, for example.
