The s2 flavor with the KVM base gets a successor in the general-purpose family. The new flavor uses the 6th generation of the Intel Xeon Cascade Lake processors and thus offers up to 20% higher performance. The improvements include higher memory bandwidth, faster data access, and better CPU processing time.

The s3 flavor is initially only available in AZ 3 and further availability zones will follow.
