Extreme SSD Disk available for Region DE

The new disk type “Extreme SSD” is available in the DE region and comes up with up to 128,000 IOPS and 1 GB/s throughput, making it the highest performing disk type among the Open Telekom Cloud EVS disks. It is perfectly suited for high-performance computing applications or IOPS-intense workloads. The disk type fits therefore to large-scale OLTP databases, NoSQL databases or stream & log processing use-cases.

Limitations:

Please be informed that the Storage Disaster Recovery Service (SDRS) does not support Extreme SSD disk types. In addition the Extreme SSD disk type supports 128,000 IOPS when used with a BMS. The currently available ECS flavors support a maximum of 100,000 IOPS only. Therefore we are planning to create new flavor types that support the Extreme IO disk type to full extend in the future.
