Jobino: Complex challenges of a job platform

Where can a part-time jobber work ten hours per week close to where they live, and earn at least 12 euros per hour? And where can they just work on the weekend? As a student, Fabian Henze, who was not exactly paid generously in his part-time job in a brewery, asked himself precisely these questions – and looked in vain for answers in the conventional career portals. These practically only ever advertised positions for specialists and managers. Henze developed his business idea out of necessity: a job platform to bring local employers and part-time job seekers together.

Good support was extremely important to us. At T-Systems, we always have a direct contact who we can talk to at any time.

Jobino.de offers precise location detection and valuable information about working hours and pay. The job providers now include renowned companies from across the whole of Germany. After all, employers benefit too: “My contacts in the retail sector confirmed that it is too expensive to place advertisements for part-time jobs in a portal for specialists. So the platform is just as interesting to companies as it is to job seekers,” explains founder Fabian Henze.

Highest priority for data protection and data security

Jobino is planning to enable applicants to upload sensitive data, such as CVs, to the job platform in the future, to make the job search even easier. The problem: the previous cloud provider was based in the USA and was unable to meet the high demands of German customers with regard to data security and data protection. “Data security is our top priority, because a security loophole leads to negative headlines and has an immediate impact on the business success,” says Henze, who therefore looked for a cloud provider who would handle data according to strict German data protection regulations.

Flexible IT resources from the Open Telekom Cloud

Henze found what he was looking for in Deutsche Telekom. The start-up uses the Open Telekom Cloud and now procures flexibly scalable IT resources, such as storage space and virtual workspaces for its employees, from high-security German computer centres. “Thanks to scaling, the infrastructure can grow with the company,” says Henze. The high level of data security and data protection is confirmed by numerous certificates from independent testing authorities.

The purchase decision was also influenced by value for money. “The Open Telekom Cloud offers young companies the advantage of being able to enter the market with low costs – instead of having to buy an expensive package directly,” says Henze, who wants to migrate the entire web portal to the Open Telekom Cloud shortly.
