The metadata is used to build a global file system and enforce compliance with current and incoming legislation, providing enhanced cybersecurity against data challenges whilst also accelerating end user and system workflows. The metadata catalogue is kept up to date in real-time and provides a single unified entry point to corporate data, giving access to over 60 file and object storage solutions from a single pane of glass.
The Enterprise File Fabric™ provides a secure content management solution that encompasses existing On-Premises files and/or On-Cloud files. It unifies files in disparate storage platforms to provide a single cohesive way for people to securely work and collaborate. Existing files are not moved or transferred - instead the File Fabric indexes existing data and caches this metadata to facilitate secure access. The File Fabric works with Windows Filers, CIFS, NFS, SMB, NAS, SAN, SharePoint, and Object Storage services. It provides an easy way for employees to securely access files using existing authentication mechanisms (Active Directory, LDAP or SAML) coupled with additional two-factor authentication (2FA), which means OTP challenge can be set for additional security.
Enterprise Search allows for the enterprise-wide identification and enabling of content from different on-premises or on-cloud data sources to be indexed, searched, and displayed to authorized users. Employees seek and find the information they need at the time that they need it, not only aiding productivity but ultimately providing an organization-wide ROI. The Enterprise File Fabric's Content Discovery feature also enables companies to easily set templates to match sensitive data within files. When this occurs, files are placed in a mode whereby they are not accessible to other users or cannot be shared. Administrators are notified and automated actions can be taken on the data in question on detection.
The Enterprise File Fabric provides advanced secure file sharing features for file based storage and object storage. These features include time expiry, password protection, restricted download access, and promoting named link sharing policy, whereby users are required to outline why they created a shared link. Data can be transparently encrypted using the built-in FIPS certified encryption. 'Smart data indexing' provides the basis for intelligent content discovery and file policy enforcement whilst promoting collaboration and user productivity across data silos.
